Last week I saw an alien
From somewhere out in space.
It must have learned to
read like us.
Because it parked in the
proper place.
It hovered above a no
parking sign
Before passing right on by.
To fit into a compact
space,
It didn’t even try.
There’s a drive where
busses stop
To let the children out.
The spacecraft slowed to
study that sign
Before trying a different
route.
It was very plain to see.
It didn’t pause a moment to choose
“Visitor Parking Only.”
