Isaac and Abe had to work to pay for the things
need for the journey west, but not everything
could be paid for with money. Some costs of
moving, such as parting from family and friends
could not be measured with money. On a sheet of
paper, list as many of those costs as you can. Pretend this is 1848 and you are thinking of going west on the Oregon Trail. If you are successful in getting to Oregon, you could have land and a better life, but you would have to give up or risk everything above for that land and better life. Would you go to Oregon? Why or why not? |
